ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Kirisa Jackson (b. 1996, Buikwe, Uganda) is a contemporary visual artist currently residing and working in Kira, Uganda. His work rotates around the connection between people using rest, stillness, care, family, vulnerability and resilience as an entry point to explore the unspoken language of the body. He primarily uses oil and acrylic paint on canvas to draw depth and presence between the body and its surrounding. His choice in composition not only reflects self-expression but opens up to collective commentary.
He holds BA in Art and Industrial Design from Kyambogo university, Diploma in Art and Design from Michelangelo College of creative arts. He has participated in several exhibitions across East Africa, including The Climate Justice at the Ndere Cultural Centre in Kampala, Uganda, and the Affordable Art Show at the Nairobi National Museum in Nairobi, Kenya, Captured Hearts, TAAG Gallery Artsy online exhibition and in his pop-up show, Kirisa @24, at Bafrika Creationz Gallery in Entebbe, Uganda
